I won my State Championship medal. It's a pretty awesome feeling. The chase to be a better athlete contributed to my identity. I wish someone had captured my character in a forever photo.
Over time, when you look at your portrait,
what emotion does it communicate,
what is it saying about who you are in the photograph.
I am an avid sports enthusiast. As a youth growing up in Sunny Southern California it meant outdoor sports, all day, every day. I played a number of sports for as long as I can remember, all the way through my first year of college, where my team won the California State Championship in the sport of Rowing.
Unfortunately, soon after, I was permanently sidelined with two big surgeries, never to competitively compete again. One day, thousands of hours of play, training, and competition all came to an end. Like it does for almost all athletes.
After UCLA, I enjoyed a career in advertising and traveled the world understanding purposeful advertising through focus groups, attending strategic meetings, learning why campaigns work, and then telling mini stories that produced results for high profile clients.
Since then, I've had several successful business adventures and currently enjoy a tremendous family life with my wife, 2 girls, my son and step son, and the attention to sport remains a powerful constant in my daily life.

The truth is, I love being a photographer. I like using the camera to tell stories.
That story helps define your brand, captures your experience and reminds us who you have become.
